Tripp

One day a 5 year old boy named Keanu was playing in his room with a few toy trucks. He sat in front of the mirror as he always did to play with his reflection who's name is Tripp. His parents got worried a lot because Keanu would just stay up in his room and talk to the mirror. It wasn't the typical 5 year old thing to do.

He didn't play outside at school when it was recess time. Instead, he would sit under a tree and watch the other kids play. When the teachers asked him if he wanted to join, he would say "Tripp is the only friend I need."

Well, while Keanu was playing with the trucks, and with Tripp of course, his older brother, Justice, came into the room. Keanu didn't like Justice because he would push him around and yell at him without purpose. And even worse than that he wasn't even a teen. He was just 9 years old!

He walked over to Keanu and looked over his shoulder. "Hey, that's mine!" He yelled picking up the yellow truck that was rolling towards the mirror. "Give it back!" Keanu yelled. "No it's mine!" Justice yelled back.

"I was just playing with it!"

"Go play with your other little toys." Justice said calmly. He knew that if you were calm in an argument then it would get the other person annoyed. Keanu was now on his feet and jumping up and down trying to get the toy from his older brother, who was holding it in the air just out of Keanu's reach. "Give it!"

"Reach for it, jelly bean."

"Tripp was playing with it!"

"Tripp?" Justice gritted his teeth. "Get this, straight toothpick. There IS no Tripp." He turned Keanu around so that he was facing the mirror. "That's you, go get some real friends." Keanu stared at his brother. "Tripp doesn't like it when people say that. You're going to get him mad."

"Like I care." Justice said, walking out of the room, and dropping the car.

Later that night, when everyone was asleep, Justice heard someone talking in Keanu's room. He calmed down when he heard it was just Keanu, but it sent a chill down his spine when he heard what he was talking to himself about.

"He didn't know."

"Well he didn't stop himself from saying it."

"Just forget about it. My mommy always says people will say stuff."

"Well someone needs to teach those people a lesson."

Then the conversation ended. Justice lay in his bed staring at the ceiling, wondering if his brother was talking about him. Then the creak of the door interrupted his thoughts, and in came Keanu. "What?" He asked with an unreadable tone of voice. "Justice..." Keanu muttered.

"What?" He repeated, with still no tone.

"I can't sleep, can I stay in here with you?"

Justice sighed and moved over. He didn't mind his brother sleeping with him, it was just the fact of getting comfortable again. Keanu crawled into bed and got under the covers. "Thank you." He whispered. 15 minutes passed.

"Hey Keanu." Justice said, staring up at the ceiling.

"Yeah?" He replied.

"There's someone I want you to meet."

"Who?"

"MY friend, Chase. He's met Tripp already. And he didn't like him, but I think he'll love you."

"O-ok" Keanu stammered.

"I heard you and Tripp talking, did he scare you?"

"A-a-a little." Keanu heard Justice getting out of bed, he wondered why he was talking about Tripp like he now believed that he was real.

He walked over to his light switch and turned to face the mirror that he had in his room, it was a lot like Keanu's. Both were so big that they took up most of the wall. "I don't think he'll be doing that anymore..." He said. And before Keanu could say anything else, the light turned on and he saw Justice smiling at the mirror.

Keanu turned to see what he was looking at and saw Justice's reflection, which was obviously Chase, holding the head of none other than Tripp in one hand with no body connected. And in the other, and yellow toy truck. He stuffed it in Tripp's mouth and did what any other psycho would have done. He smiled and waved at Keanu, who turned and faced Justice. "Surprise." Justice said, still smiling. Keanu started walking towards him. "Don't worry, he's gone now." Justice said.

Keanu kept walking, and a grin spread across his face, but it wasn't a happy, kiddy grin. It was a menacing grin. "Keanu?" Justice said.

He kept walking. Justice backed up to the other side of the room. "Keanu?

He kept walking.

Justice started to think then he froze and held his breath. He had a thought in his head, but hoped that it wasn't right. "Tripp?"

The boy stopped. "You were expecting the Grim?"
